The Ministry of Panchayati Raj announced the launch of the PESA Portal and PESA Indicators during PESA Mahotsav 2025.

What is the PESA Portal?

A digital platform for dissemination of information and monitoring implementation of the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act, 1996.

PESA Indicators

  • Designed to assess implementation status across States
  • Enable evidence-based monitoring of PESA provisions

Additional Initiatives

  • Training modules on PESA in tribal languages
  • Special Gram Sabhas across all 10 PESA States

Constitutional Context

  • Enacted under Article 243M(4)(b)
  • Applies to Fifth Schedule Areas in 10 States
